Letter from Scott McGregor
Dear Friends,
The Broadcom Foundation marks an important milestone in Broadcom Corporation's history. Business leadership in the global semiconductor industry carries with it social responsibility. Through the Broadcom Foundation, we intend to take a greater leadership role in supporting local institutions in the more than 100 communities where Broadcom employees live and work around the globe.
As a cutting-edge technology company, Broadcom has always had a special interest in supporting math, science and engineering education in order to prepare the next generation of technology innovators. Broadcom’s emphasis on research and innovation, together with our talented employees, has enabled our company to amass one of the strongest product and patent portfolios in the semiconductor industry. The Broadcom Foundation’s support for math, science and engineering programs is yet another way for us to invest in the future.
Through support of math, science and engineering education programs as well as a range of vital community services, the Broadcom Foundation underscores our commitment to strategic philanthropy and expands our role as a corporate citizen.
By applying the very best of who we are - our talent, ideas, skills, and inspiration - we will do our best to make a difference worldwide.

Letter from Paula Golden
Dear Friends,
The Broadcom Foundation is a 501(c) (3) non profit organization with the exciting mission of advancing science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education through research, scholarship and community engagement.
While the Broadcom Corporation is Connecting everything®, the Broadcom Foundation is connecting Broadcom communities through Education, Excellence and Engagement. In addition to funding STEM initiatives, the Foundation will endeavor to create opportunities for engagement in Broadcom communities and celebrate the volunteerism of Broadcom employees throughout the world.
The Broadcom Foundation looks forward to partnering with universities, foundations, non-profits organizations to both inspire and enable young people from all walks of life to become professionals in STEM fields and create vitality in our communities. Although some Foundation grants will be by invitation only, there will be a period for qualifying organizations to submit an online grant application.
We anticipate that the Foundation's Open Proposal Period will run from April 30 to June 30. As part of our commitment to environmental stewardship, we are striving for a paperless non-profit where only online proposals will be accepted.
We hope you will be patient with us as we build our website and complete the development of grant guidelines. You can reach the foundation by emailing pgolden@broadcomfoundation.org
